During the first week of November I sat down with my Grandma’s vintage 70s Vogue sewing magazine clippings. I was feeling emotionally charged after packing up my grandmother’s belongings with my mom & aunt in Virginia as my Grandma transitioned from independent living to Memory Care. All of this with a thick added layer of election cycle chaos felt really heavy.
As I started to creatively assemble these clippings I pondered what wise words these ladies would provide from their 70s perspectives and let the words spill out onto the canvases. Afterwards I felt more like myself; more centered, hopeful, amused, and inspired. Art always has a way of doing that at the exact right moments.
As we enter the new year with hope, anticipation, dreams, and perhaps a dash trepidation, these pieces fit beautifully with the @squarefootshow theme “Reflections” to bring you wisdom, encouragement, and a bit of vibrant, colorful amusement! 👏✌️✨
